About the Website

The purpose of this website is to provide a centralized source of information about high school volleyball in Ohio.  

As an avid volleyball fan I follow the entire state. (For anyone who wants to know why I'm a volleyball fan, see about me). It is frustrating to piece information together from several sources, and sometimes I have no choice but to call a school and talk to the coach.

Based on conversations I've had, a lot of other people feel the same way.

This website will provide as much of the information below that I can get.

• Team Information - schedules, rosters, scores, team highlights and a link to the school website (if the school agrees).

• News Highlights Statewide. Highlights of interest around the state.

• League News - standings and all-conference awards.

• Area’s Best Players - a list of top players by region, plus college commitments.

• Tournaments - lists of tournaments by week, including quads and tri-matches, plus results if they are provided.

• Links to other websites.

Information will be presented in a consistent format that is easy to access. But to do this I need the information.

Around 750 high schools have girls volleyball teams, and I only see a relative few. There are four divisions and about 80 teams get ranked. Lots of strong teams don't get mentioned. There are over 8,000 players, including 160 or so who make All-State, and lots of others who deserve recognition.

Boys volleyball has fewer teams, but even there I can only cover so much.

And with the exploding interest in the sport in the Buckeye State it's even more impossible than ever to keep up.

Saying something is "more impossible" is redundant, but I'm trying to make a point. I need your help.

Most of the information needs to be provided to the website by readers. I am looking for people to send schedules, scores, news and other information. If you are interested in doing this, please click on Website Contributors.

Future Features

It has been suggested that the website provide a Coaches Corner and Referee Forum.  If any coaches or referees would like to contribute, I am interested in hearing from you.

Another possibility is reporting on off-season results, such as camps and club volleyball.
