Fifth seeded Kettering Fairmont won their twelfth straight match last night as they toppled second seeded Chaminade-Julienne 25-15, 25-27, 25-16, 25-15 in the West Two Regional at Centerville, thereby avenging a four game loss to the Eagles in March. The (19-7) Firebirds, who are peaking at the right time, were led by senior Nick Fox with 17 kills and 9 blocks. Senior Travis Weitthoff had 47 assists and ran a very balanced offense, as junior middle Jon Burt and junior outside Tim Missimer added 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Anthony D'Amico was tops in digs with 12, followed by Fox with 10.

Next on the agenda for Fairmont is third seeded Lakota East (21-3), which is led by the big play of 6'3" outside Doug Spotts. East, which downed Fairmont in three on March 27, ousted Beavercreek last night 25-19, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18.

Beavercreek closed out at 17-8. They were led by Alex White with 17 digs, Joe Ruef with 10 blocks, Karl Grosselin with 31 assists, and Brenden Pence with 20 kills.
