Highlights 10/29/05 - Crestview Lady Knights ended their season against the Marion Local Flyers. Leading servers Courtney Springer 18/18, 3 aces; Morgan Hicks 2 aces and Jen Miller 2 aces; Leading Hitters Courtney Springer 55/61, 19 kills; Shea Dietrich 49/51, 14 kills; Ashley Holden 49/51, 11 kills. Morgan Hicks lead in assists 21 and Jamie Perkins had a stellar night in defense. The Lady Knights gave every ounce of effort and never gave up. No coach can ask for anything more. The ladies end their season 22 -3 10/23/05 - Crestview beat Delphos Jefferson in sectionals 25-19, 27-25, 25-11. Leading hitters: Courtney Springer 43/47, 18 kills; Shea Dietrich 21/25, 10 kills; Jen Miller 14/15, 4 kills; leading servers: Alisha Etzler 21/21; Jen Miller 18/20; Courtney 10/11, 2 aces. Alisha had 27 assists and Jamie Perkins had 28 digs. Crestview swung well the first game, but the Cats continually brought the ball back. The Knights made mistakes in game two, but fought back from an 18-22 deficit. In the third game the Knights got down to business, winning easily. 10/18/05 - Crestview JV lost to Parkway 18-25, 25-19, 15-4 Leading server: Lindsay Staten 4 aces; leading hitters Carly Lichtensteiger and Maegen Miller. Crestview Varsity won – 19-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25–19, 15-10 Leading servers: Alisha Etzler 26/26 2 aces; Jen Miller 25/26 4 aces; Leading Hitters: Courtney Springer 47/52, 24 kills; Shea Dietrich 28/31, 11 kills; Ashley Holden 26/30, 8 kills. Jamie Perkins lead in serve receive and digs. Alisha had 30 assists. The Lady Knights finished their season 20-2, and 8-1 in the NWC. 10/15/05 - The JV lost in a good match against Mohawk 23-25, 14-25. Carly Lichtensteiger had 5 kills, and Lindsay McCoy led the defense. The Varsity won against D3 Mohawk 25-19, 25-19, 25-10, ranked #7 in the state. Leaders: Hitting: Courtney Springer 30/32, 14 kills; Ashley Holden 17/18, 6 kills; Shea Dietrich 22/24, 4 kills; Serving: Alisha Etzler 14/15; Morgan Hicks 13/14 3 aces; Digging: Jamie Perkins 18. Senior appreciation day spilled over into the girls court play. They were talking, thinking, and moving well today. Everybody settled into a rhythm and played their respective positions. The Lady Knights, now 19-2, (8-1 in the NWC), will play their last scheduled match at Parkway on Monday night. 10/13/05 - Crestview JV traveled across the county to Lincolnview to win in two, 25-22, 26-24. Leading servers: Gretchen Kiehl 11/12, 4 aces; Libby Motycka 10/10, 3 aces; leading hitter: Carly Lichtensteiger 5 kills. The Varsity Ladies won in three 25-14, 25-12, and 25-23 against a Lancer team that wouldn’t quit. Leading servers: Jen Miller 24/24 with 6 aces; Alisha Etzler 14/14 with 2 aces; leading hitters Courtney Springer 31/34, 16 kills; Shea Dietrich 24/27, 8 kills; Ashley Holden 27/33, 4 kills. Alisha Etzler held down the fort as the setter for the Knights with 24 assists. Jamie Perkins led in serve receive and digs tonight, going a good job of covering the floor tonight. 10/08/05 - The Lady Knights defeated Ft. Jennings 25-22, 25-13 and New Knoxville 25-22, 19-25, 15-12 today. Leading servers were Jen Miller 27/28, 3 aces; Courtney Springer 22/22, 3 aces; and Alisha Etzler 18/18. Leading hitters were Springer 48/58, 15 kills; Shea Dietrich 37/42, 10 kills; Ashley Holden 36/38, 7 kills. Alisha Etzler had 19 assists. Everyone on the team focused on doing their job as the Knights upped their tempo. Amanda Gehres and Kelsey Nedderman have stepped it up on the right side and Ashley Holden is really starting to swing hard, and Jamie Perkins can be counted on for smooth passes to run the offensive schemes. Springer and Dietrich always go hard all the way around. 10/06/05 - Crestview met with a scrappy Bearcat crew and, after a slow start, came away with a 25-23, 25-15, 25-13 win. Stat leaders: Hitters: Ashley Holden 20 for 25 with 11 kills; Shea Dietrich 27 for 29 with 7 kills; Jen Miller 13 for 13 with 4 kills; Servers: Alisha Etzler 14/14 with 1 ace; Ashley Holden 10/10 with 3 aces; Courtney Springer 12/13; Morgan Hicks 10/11 with 2 aces; Assists: Etzler 9; Morgan Hicks 3. Crestview JV played well against Spencerville winning 25-12 and 25-19. Leaders: Hitter -Maegen Miller with 4 kills; Server - Gretchen Kiehl 12/12 with 3 aces. 10/04/05 - The Lady Knights rolled to a victory over NWC Paulding Panthers bringing their record to 14–2, 6–1 in the NWC. The hitting was evenly spaced between Courtney Springer, Shea Dietrich and Ashley Holden with 17 kills, 13 kills and 8 kills, respectively. Dietrich and Alisha Etzler led in serving, while Etzler and Morgan Hicks each had 13 assists. Middle blockers Holden and Springer did a great job of controlling Paulding's hitters. Crestview focused on approaching the net for big swings, so the first game several hits were a tad long, but the Knights worked together to pull them in. They are also using a new serve receive pattern. 10/02/05 - The Crestview Varsity Lady Knights were part of a premier volleyball Invitational Saturday, when they hosted the Pepsi Invitational. Six of the eight participating schools were ranked. Crestview lost to the Fort Recovery Indians in their first match of the day with scores of 23-25 and 25-27. They rallied and played the Ottoville Big Green winning in two, 25-12 and 25-19. Their last match of the day was against a tall hard hitting Marion Local team and Crestview won in three, 25-23, 15-25, and 15-10. The Lady Knights finished with fire during their third match. Courtney Springer lead Crestview with kills for the team 29 kills out of 68 attempts, raising her kill percentage to .426. Shea Dietrich and Ashley Holden had 12 and 8 kills respectively. Dietrich lead in serves 35 for 37 with 3 aces and Alisha Etzler served 31 for 32. Etzler had 21 assists and Morgan Hicks had 12. Jamie Perkins was the leading serve receiver for the day. 2005 Schedule
