Highlights

09/03/07 - The Bombers got a look at volleyball outside of Ohio over Labor Day weekend when they traveled to Massachusetts for a match with Medway, a perennial power with eight state titles. Medway's Tri-Valley League has produced a state champion every year since 1998, ans Medway has been first or second in the league six of the past seven years.

Kenston got to see three other league powers: Barnstable, a team with towering middles; Medfield and all-league junior Melissa Haskill; and, Westborough with their great setter/middle tandem – the middle has a unique tip to zone 6.

Their match with Medway was played on Monday. It was a serving war with several big runs, and both teams averaged about five aces per game. The players were somewhat nervous at the start having gone from being hosts and guests to opponents.

Medway's parents threw a Chinese dinner for the teams.

Stat leaders for Kenston:

Jen Braun – 10 kills, 10 aces

Claire Randall – 1.5 blocks

Jessica Ferguson – 6 digs

Rachel Triscaro – 30 assists
