2003 Highlights

Nike Challenge - Comments from Coach Tina Jasinowski

Carrie De Mange (senior middle) went in with 176 total kills and added another 90 in just five matches of play...

Ali Hausfeld (senior setter) went in with 354 total assists and added another 139 in our five matches...

Lindsey Woeste (senior outside hitter) went in with 88 total digs and added another 61 in our five matches...

Our team goal going in was just to finish in the top half (as we had no idea what we were getting into)... to think we were a point away from possibly playing in the finals (having had Mater Dei on the ropes in game three of our match)...

We were ranked 33rd in the nation going in, ended up beating two teams ranked ahead of us nationally, and came close to beating a third: Bellevue, Nebraska (Top 15); Sacred Heart, Kentucky (4th in the country); Mater Dei (6th)...

There were so many amazing moments - I don't know if I can single out anything in particular. Oh, it was ironic that we don't play "net serves" in Ohio and yet we won the 33-31 marathon game vs. Bellevue when Ali Hausfeld served a ball short and it teetered on the tape and then just, literally, dropped over the net onto their side.
