Kings Knights (22-2, 7-0 FAVC) Final Poll Rank 11 - Division II Back

Highlights 10/24/04 - The Kings Lady Knights closed out their 2004 volleyball season with a hotly contested sectional championship loss to Bellbrook. The Knights were slow out of the gate and dropped game one 25-15. They regrouped in the second game coming away with a 25-21 victory. Game three see-sawed down to the wire with the Knights having several opportunities to take the lead in the match, but falling short 25-23. Though the Knights fought for every point in game four, the Golden Eagles pulled away for the 25-19 match victory. The Knights played good defense but stumbled somewhat on offense. Bellbrook hitters were firing on all cylinders and also made served and defended better after a somewhat a shaky match Wednesday against Badin. The Knights finish the season at 22-2 (their only other setback being a September 2nd loss to this same Bellbrook team). Bellbrook will face McNicholas on Wednesday in the District finals. 10/21/04 - The Kings Lady Knights made short work of Little Miami in Sectional Playoff action in Springboro tonight. The Knights won in three 25-20, 25-10, 25-9. The victory sets up a long-awaited rematch between Kings and Bellbrook Saturday night at Springboro. The Knights only setback of their 22-1 season was a September 2nd 4-game defeat against the Golden Eagles. Bellbrook beat Badin tonight to ensure the rematch. Badin played great defense and took advantage of Eagle miscues to stretch the match to five games. However, Bellbrook's superior hitting gave them the margin of victory. 10/14/04 - Kings finished up regular season play Wednesday night against the Ross Rams. The Lady Knights came away victors 25-21, 25-7, 25-11. Kings is now 18-1, 7-0 going into the FAVC Tournament on Saturday. 10/10/04 - The Kings Lady Knights took one game to start firing on all cylinders but, after that, battled back to win match victories over Anderson and Princeton, both Division I. The Knights beat Anderson 15-25, 25-16, 15-9. Kings then slipped by a stubborn Princeton squad 25-22, 26-24. The Knights are 17-1 for the season, 6-0 in FAVC Cardinal. They finish up the regular season Wednesday against FAVC rival, Ross. 10/08/04 - The Kings Lady Knights were back in action Thursday night in a non-conference match against Division I Amelia. The Knights rolled to victory in three games, 25-10, 25-21, 25-16. Kings improves their record to 15-1. Kings will be back in action Saturday in a tri-match against Division I teams, Princeton (host) and Anderson. The Knights then wrap up their regular season next Wednesday against FAVC Cardinal rival, Ross. 10/5/04 - Kings improved to 14-1, 6-0 tonight against the Northwest Knights. Kings peeled off three quick wins, 25-13, 25-6 and 25-14 to stay undefeated in the FAVC Cardinal Division. Kings has three straight Division I matches coming up: Amelia Thursday night, followed by Princeton and Anderson in a tri-match on Saturday. They'll wrap up their regular season against Ross next Wednesday. Kings is #14 in the latest AP state poll. They're holding steady at #3 in the Cincinnati Enquirer poll. 9/25/04 - Kings hosted Edgewood and Finneytown in a tri-match Saturday and dispatched both teams, stretching their win streak to 11 matches. Kings, now 12-1, 4-0, beat Edgewood 25-13, 25-18. Finneytown also went down in two, losing to the Knights by identical 25-17 scores. 9/22/04 - The Kings Lady Knights got off to a slow start Wednesday night against Division I Glen Este High School, but charged back to win the match in four, 16-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23. Kings is now 10-1 with a nine-match win streak. Kings hosts a tri-match against Finneytown and Edgewood on Saturday. 9/21/04 - The Kings Lady Knights kept it on cruise control Tuesday night on their way to a straight-set victory over FAVC conference rival, Norwood, 25-19, 25-21, 25-13. The Knights improve to 9-1, 4-0. Norwood falls to 2-7. Kings moved up two notches to 5th in the latest Cincinnati Enquirer Poll for Division II-IV. 9/16/04 - Kings never broke much of a sweat as they defeated FAVC rival, Little Miami, in straight sets, 25-14, 25-22, 25-11. Kings improves to 8-1, 3-0. Little Miami drops to 2-5. Kings is ranked 7th in the most recent Cincinnati Enquirer Division II-IV poll. The Knights haven't shown up yet on the official OHSVBCA state rankings, but they have been ranked 14th in the state by one informal Division II poll on the jjhuddle.com website. 2004 Schedule
