Lancaster Team Highlights

Summary

Lancaster finished 11th in the prestigious Nike Classic, beating St. Michael (Texas) 15-11, 15-13. In earlier rounds, Lancaster beat Lockport (Ill.) 15-11, 17-15, lost to Catholic Memorial (Wisc.), ranked 4th in Wisconsin, 11-15, 13-15, beat Downers Grove North (Ill.) 15-7, 16-14, and lost to Sandburg (Ill.) 9-15, 15-12, 10-15. Sandburg was unbeaten going into the Classic, and nationally ranked.

Lancaster has not played ranked Ohio teams outside the Central District. They have been winning convincingly in Central, and have stepped up a level from last year, when they were District runner-up. They beat Dublin Coffman (15-13, 15-9) and handed Westland its only (as of 10/05) loss 15-9, 15-7. They also have wins over Hilliard Darby twice, Pickerington, Gahanna, Newark and Westerville North.
