battle of top Cleveland-area teams, #5 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin defeated North
Coast League rival and defending conference champion, #6-ranked Lake Catholic,
15-10, 11-15, 15-12. Leaders were:
Ally Perko 15 service points, 12 kills; Stephanie Lund 32 assists; Annie Zakelj
5 blocks.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, ranked #6 in the Cleveland area by
the Cleveland Plain Dealer, upset Walsh Jesuit, the #1-ranked Cleveland team,
15-12, 14-16, 15-11, last night (Sept. 3) at NDCL. The Lions were led by senior
Jen White, who had 16 points, 8 kills, 7 blocks, and 11 digs, senior Annie Zakelj who had 10 kills, 17 digs, and 13 points, and junior Ally Perko, who had
13 kills. The Warriors were led by Erin Wright with 12 kills and 9 blocks. Amy
Tausch had 8 kills, and Kristin Segerson had 7 kills, 13 digs, and 11 points.
