Highlights

Butler's record is deceiving. On Oct. 5 they won Kettering Alter's tri-match, beating Alter in three and Sidney Lehman in two. They have also won at Seton. Their losses are to Toledo St. Ursula (15-2, 4-15, 11-15), Ursuline (15-7, 5-15, 7-15), Mother of Mercy (12-15, 8-15) and Notre Dame (Ky.) Academy (15-11, 13-15, 14-16). Otherwise, they have been winning convincingly. They are capable of beating anyone in the state when they are on their game.

Vandalia-Butler defeated Piqua on Thursday, Oct. 10 by scores of 15-3, 15-5
to win the league title for the 6th year in a row.

Vandalia-Butler defeated Cincinnati Seton this afternoon at Seton 15-6, 17-15. The match lasted an hour and fifteen minutes. The second game had so many sideouts that Butler ran out of substitutions with Seton ahead 8-7. Abby Showers, who will play for Georgia Tech next year, had nine kills and 15 digs. Erica Speltz led the Aviators' attack with 11 kills and six blocks. Sophomore setter/hitter Chelsea Noble had 20 assists, 10 kills and six blocks.
