2004 Highlights

9/24/04 - Wynford defeated Bucyrus last night 25-13, 25-18, 25-11. The Royals were led by Jenny Slone with 21 kills on a 31-37 hitting night and Shauna Rowland chipped in with 14 kills and 14 points. The Royals are now 8-2 on the year and are tied with Buckeye Central for first in the NCC with a 6-1 win at the end of the first round of league play. The Royals host Ontario on Tuesday.

9/20/04 - The Royals went 1-2 on Saturday losing their first match of the season to fellow NCC power Buckeye Central in the BC quad. The Royals won game one 25-23 but couldn't get the offense in full gear and lost game two and three 25-13, and 15-4. With the loss the Royals hold a slim half game lead in the NCC with a 5-1 record. Buckeye Central and Colonel Crawford trail at 4-1. The Royals could not recover from the first match doldrums and missed three game point serves to drop a decision to Tiffin Calvert 28-26, and 25-21. The Royals did rebound in the finale to drop Seneca East by scores of 25-23 and 25-16. The Royals are now 7-2 on the season.

9/16/04 - Wynford knocked off previously unbeaten Colonel Crawford in a battle for sole possession of first place in the NCC Thursday night. The Royals lost game one 19-25 but rallied to win the next three sets, 25-11, 25-21, 26-24. Shauna Rowland pounded 21 kills while Jenny Slone chipped in 16. Erika
Fullenkamp shot down 14 Eagle spikes. The Royals travel to Buckeye Central
Saturday for a quad match with Buckeye Central, Tiffin Calvert, and Seneca
East.

9/14/04 - The Wynford Royals defeated Riverdale last night 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20. The young Royals responded to adversity missing two starters to defeat perennial NCC power Riverdale last night. Missing starting outside hitter
sophomore Brittany Fullenkamp and Senior middle Hitter Erika Fullenkamp the
Royals got strong supporting performances from replacements Sophomore Hannah Grove, Junior Ashley Corney and Senior Krystal Meister to stay unbeaten at 5-0 and 4-0 in the NCC. Ashley Corney led the Royals in points with 19 on a 24 for 26 serving effort with 3 aces. The Royals were led at the net by Sophomore Shauna Rowland with 16 kills followed by Sophomore Jenny Slone with 13 kills. Junior Sam Christman led the defense with 16 digs. The
Royals play fellow unbeaten and league rival Colonel Crawford on Thursday at
the home of the Royals.

9/12/04 - The young Royals defeated Crestline Thursday 9/9/04 by the scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-20. The Royals were led by Shauna Rowland with a 22 for 22 serving effort and 19 points she also hammered home 13 kills on a 27 for 30 hitting effort fellow sophomore Jenny Slone banged home 10 kills while senior Erika Fullenkamp chipped in 9. The Royals head to Riverdale Monday for an important NCC match up.

9/8/02 - The Royals defeated Lucas last night by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23. The Royals were led at the net by Jenny Slone with 15 kills and
Senior Erika Fullenkamp with 13 kills and 10 blocks. The Royals play Crestline at home on Thursday. They now stand 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the NCC.

9/3/02 - Wynford recovered from losing the first two sets to defeat league rival Ontario on Thursday Sept 2. The Royals lost the first two games 19-25,
17-25 before rallying for 25-22, 25-17, 15-11 victories to take the match at
Ontario. The Royals were again led by Sophomores Slone and Rowland with 26
and 13 kills respectively while fellow sophomore Brittany Fullenkamp added 9
kills. Senior Erika Fullenkamp turned the tide with an aggressive blocking game accumulating 5 solos, 9 assisted, and 15 kept in plays to slow the Ontario offense. Dana Shifley led the Royals scoring attack with a 20 for 20 serving performance. Royals are now 2-0 and 1-0 in the NCC
.

9/1/02 - Wynford opened the season defeating Upper Sandusky in three games by the scores of 25-19, 25-17, 30-28. Sophomores Shauna Rowland and Jenny Slone banged in 13 and 10 kills respectivley while Rowland served a perfect 20 for 20. Slone and Junior Dana Shifley set the attack with 22 assists and 28
assists respectivley. Rowland dug 25 Upper Sandusky attacks to lead the
Royal defense.
