Bucyrus Wynford Royals (17-7, 11-3) Back

2005 Highlights 10/20 - Wynford finished the season 16-6. The Royals lost to Buckeye Central 25-11, 25-22, 25-23, Marion Harding 25-23, 23-25, 15-10 and Elgin 16-25, 25-20, 15-10 before beating backyard rival Bucyrus 25-13, 25-17, 25-15 to end the year. Jenny Slone ended the regular season with 388 Kills and 63 aces she has not jump served for three weeks due to elbow tenderness, Shauna Rowland finished the year with 315 kills. The Royals opened the tournament season with a 19-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 victory over Crestline. Rowland and Slone each pounded out 20 kills while Rowland had 13 assists and Slone had 22 assists. Rowland and Dana Shifley were each a perfect 24 for 24 serving. The Royals play second seeded Mansfield Christian for the Sectional title Tuesday October 25. 10/13 - Wynford defeated New Riegel last Saturday by scores of 25-16, 25-8, 25-12. The Royals then captured a hard fought win over Colonel Crawford 28-30, 27-25, 25-21, 25-19. Jenny Slone pounded home 38 kills while Shauna Rowland added 41 kills in the two matches. Shauna was a perfect 33 of 33 serving with 4 aces combined. The Royals travel to Buckeye Central Thursday, October 13 for a game to determine the NCC league title. If the Bucks win they will be assured of their 13th league title, an outright championship. If the Royals win they will be in a two way tie with one league match to go. It will be a packed house for sure. 10/07 - The Royals were upset in an NCC match by Riverdale (13-4, 8-3) last evening. The Falcons, who earlier in the season also defeated Buckeye Central, earned a 25-22, 25-22, 15-25, 28-26 victory. The Royals were paced by Hannah Grove's 14 points and Shauna Rowland's 28 kill's, and injured Jenny Slone gutted out a 20 kill performance. The Royals are back in action on Saturday October 8 vs. New Reigel before facing a tough week of competition in the NCC hosting Colonel Crawford on Tuesday and traveling to Buckeye Central on Thursday, then facing Marion Elgin and Marion Harding in a non league tri on Saturday the 15th. If the Royals win out in the North Central Conference they can do no worse then tie for the NCC championship, a task that may be easier said then done. 10/03 - Last week Wynford defeated Northridge (Johnstown) 25-16, 25-16, 25-19. Jenny Slone set a school record at the time for Kills with 27. The Royals returned to league play with a 25-14, 25-11, 25-22 win over Ontario. Jenny Slone and Shauna Rowland each had 13 kills in the match. On Thursday the Royals defeated Lucas by scores of 25-4, 25-6, 25-13. Jenny Slone served 6 aces and had 12 kills while Shauna Rowland chipped in 10. Wynford split a tri match with Plymouth and Mohawk. The Royals defeated Plymouth 25-12, 25-13 before losing to state ranked division III Mohawk 24-26, 25-16, 15-10. The Royals were led by Jenny Slone's 26 kills and Shauna Rowlands 32 of 33 serving. On Monday the 3rd of October the Royals rebounded to defeat Crestline by scores of 27-25, 25-13, 22-25, 25-16. Jenny Slone set a new school record for kills with 34 while Shauna Rowland added 17. The Royals travel to Riverdale for a very important league match on Thursday. 09/23 - Wynford lost to 7th ranked Buckeye Central in a classic battle before a packed house. The scores were 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 15-8. The Royals were led at the net by Jenny Slone with 24 kills and Shauna Rowland with 19. Abby Miller played outstanding defense with 18 digs. Hanna Grove was a perfect 24 of 24 serving on the night with 15 points. The Royals rebounded to gain a tie for first in the league with a three game win at Bucyrus 25-17, 25-18, 25-18, while Buckeye Central was upset by Riverdale in 4 games. The Royals were led by Jenny Slone’s 16 kills and Dana Shifley’s 15 of 15 serving while Slone and Rowland each scored 10 points on aggressive serving. 09/19 - Wynford defeated Colonel Crawford on Thursday night 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 25-13. Jenny Slone pounded out 14 kills while Shauna Rowland added 13. Hannah Grove was 20 for 20 serving while Dana Shifley was 19-20 with 3 aces. The Royals then defeated South Central on Saturday 25-23, 25-14, 25-10. The Royals were led by Slone and Rowland with 13 and 12 kills respectively. The Royals host 7th ranked Buckeye Central on Tuesday in a key North Central Conference match up. 09/13 - Wynford defeated Crestline by scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-18 on Thursday. Shauna Rowland and Jenny Slone hammered 16 kills apiece. On Monday the Royals rallied to defeat league rival Riverdale 19-25, 28-26, 22-25, 25-21, 15-4. Slone hammered 22 kills Rowland chipped in with 15. Rowland was perfect in the serving corner with a 25-25 serving performance. Ashley Corney was 15 for 15 serving and Slone was 25 of 28 with 6 aces. 09/07 - The Wynford Royals have added two more wins to their ledger this year. The Royals defeated Ontario at home and Lucas on the road. Jenny Slone accumulated 13 aces in the two matches and 28 kills while Shauna Rowland chipped in with 29 kills. Dana Shifley added a 26 for 27 serving performance in the Lucas match with 5 aces and 20 points. 09/01 - Wynford moved to 2-0 and 1-0 in the league with a win over Ontario. Shauna Rowland pounded 17 kills while Jenny Slone added 12. Slone and Ashley Corney each had 7 blocks and Slone scored 13 points. 8/30 vs. Upper Sandusky - Jenny Slone pounded out 10 Kills while Shauna Rowland chipped in 8. Rowland scored 13 points.
